How To Prepare For White Linen Night's 20th Anniversary 2026

Here we are again y'all! White Linen Night in the Heights is just a few days away and will take place on August 2nd from 6 to 10PM. Along with a few 2026 updates, the Manready Crew has a few tips to share about how to get the most out of the evening!

What is White Linen Night in the Heights?

Originating in New Orleans, White Linen Night was created to offer residents and visitors a chance to explore local galleries, artisans, shops, and restaurants while dressed in white linen attire to combat the summer heat. This time of year is typically slow for small businesses, so the event was a great way to promote and support them. The concept spread to other cities, and in 2006, White Linen Night in the Heights on 19th Street came alive. Over the years, it’s grown into a beloved community tradition, attracting thousands of attendees each August for a night of art, music, supporting small businesses, and socializing. The idea is to shop small and local during this time, and our small businesses greatly appreciate it!

Join us as 19th Street comes alive with live music, local vendors, food trucks, cool drinks, and the best of Houston Heights community spirit.

The Manready Crew’s tips for an awesome evening:

  • The Manready Crew will be serving up a variety of premium cocktails throughout the evening that will all be on the house. We’ll also be home to some fantastic sponsors like Saint Arnolds and more!
  • Manready Mercantile is an extremely popular spot and there will be a long line at our door, typically starting at 7pm. So if you want to join us in the store, we recommend you arrive a little earlier.
  • Make a plan for parking as 19th Street will be closed for the evening. Rideshare service ALTO is sponsoring White Linen Night in the Heights again this year! Use code WLN2026 to get your $20 ride credit. Don’t drink and drive folks!
  • Be kind to fellow patrons and be patient with staff, security and volunteers. Also be sure to support the small businesses that make White Linen Night on 19th Street possible! We could all use it!
  • Here’s an easy one… Wear white! We have a ton of great options in the shop and here on the website. Check out some of our top picks for White Linen Night HERE
  • 19th Street is home to some great dinner options as well. Torchy’s, Shandy’s and **Agnes and Sherman** will be open as usual. Be sure to check em out, but they’ll probably be busy!
  • The street is supplying portable bathrooms this year. If you see one, don’t pass it up! With the crowds we’re expecting, these small businesses can’t keep up with bathroom demand and most will not be available anyhow.
  • Wear comfy shoes. Places to sit down and relax will be limited. We also recommend bringing, sunblock, a bandana, a hat, and shades. Pack a small umbrella in case the Houston weather does its thing.
  • Bring cash and your ID.
  • BYOB: You can pack your own cooler again this year, but make sure it’s portable. Some storefronts won’t allow larger coolers past a certain point in the store.
  • Bring water and stay hydrated!!

Don't forget to come see us and Big Bayou the morning after for some Bloody Marys!
